BudgetAtlas is built on a privacy-first philosophy. Unlike most budgeting apps, we don't collect, store, or have access to your financial data. Your budget information stays on your device, always under your control.

1. Information We Don't Collect

BudgetAtlas does NOT collect, store, or transmit:

• Your income information
• Your expense data
• Your budget calculations
• Your financial information of any kind
• Personal identification information (no accounts, no emails, no passwords)
• Payment information (the app is 100% free)

All budget data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage technology. This means your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself.

2. Information We Do Collect (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use BudgetAtlas. Google Analytics collects:

• Anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, time on site, navigation patterns)
• Device information (browser type, device type, screen resolution)
• Geographic location (country and city level only)
• Traffic sources (how you found our website)

This data is anonymized and aggregated. Google Analytics uses cookies to track sessions, but these cookies do not contain any personal or financial information.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by using browser extensions like Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.

3. Contact Form Data

When you submit an enquiry through our contact form, we collect:

• Your email address
• Your message/enquiry

This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not store contact form submissions in a database, share them with third parties, or use them for marketing purposes. Your enquiry is sent directly to our email address and handled like any other email correspondence.

BudgetAtlas uses the following types of cookies:

Where Your Data Lives:

• Your budget data is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage
• Data is not synchronized to our servers
• Data is not backed up by us (you control backups using our export feature)
• Data persists only on the device and browser you use

Your Control:

• You can clear all data at any time using the "Clear Data" button in the app
• You can export your data to a backup file (stored where you choose)
• You can delete data by clearing your browser's localStorage or uninstalling your browser
• No account recovery or data restoration is possible (we don't have your data)

6. No Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third-party service we use is Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics, as described above.

7. Security

Since your budget data never leaves your device, the security of your financial information is inherently protected. We implement standard web security practices including:

• HTTPS encryption for all website connections
• Secure server configuration
• Regular security updates
• Anti-spam measures on our contact form

8. Children's Privacy

BudgetAtlas is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through the contact form, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International Users

BudgetAtlas is operated from the United Kingdom. If you access our service from outside the UK, please be aware that your information (if any) may be processed in the UK. By using BudgetAtlas, you consent to the transfer of information to the UK.
